Colorado Energy Coalition

Initiatives

Colorado Energy Coalition logoThe Colorado Energy Coalition (CEC) is a working group of executives from across industry and those that support the energy industry. To accomplish its goals and objects, the CEC works on both short- and long-term projects. For example:

  • Resource Rich Colorado is the CEC's annual report on Colorado's competitive position compared to national and global energy economies. In addition to natural resources, Resource Rich Colorado evaluates intellectual resources, the entrepreneurial climate, business costs, education systems, the energy workforce, cost of living, and tax and regulatory issues.
  • The Book of Asks provides Colorado's federal delegation with data and information on energy issues, as well as a call to action to create a national energy policy that addresses taxes and incentives, access to federal lands and waters for energy production, and air and water quality.
  • The Speakers' Bureau reaches out to building owners, managers, and tenants to demonstrate the significant return on investment that can be realized from sustainable building practices, whether for new construction or renovation of existing commercial space.
  • Energy Connections are bi-monthly meetings hosted by the CEC in partnership with the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association (CCIA). Energy Connections brings together established companies and young companies to share issues and solutions, find common ground, and potentially develop partnerships.
  • Balanced Energy Economy Symposium (BEES) is a quarterly educational series that examines contemporary issues and cutting-edge thinking in the energy industry. Past topics have included, "An Insider's Look at Colorado's Future: Technologies for today's growing economy," and "The Aerospace/Energy Nexus."
  • Energy InFocus is a bi-weekly communication to Colorado's General Assembly on energy issues that impact Colorado. Energy InFocus presents a data-driven, unbiased, and independent view of Colorado's energy industry. Data presented in Energy InFocus comes from a variety of highly regarded public and private sources and, in all cases, is the most recent public information available.
