Resource Rich Colorado

Resource Rich Colorado is the CEC’s annual report on Colorado’s competitive position in energy, both nationally and internationally. First published in 2009, Resource Rich Colorado illustrates Colorado’s position in terms of energy resources, amount of energy produced, intellectual capital, business climate, and quality of life.

The Climate Prosperity Project

Metro Denver is one of eight pilot regions in the country selected by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund to develop a regional climate prosperity, or greenprint, strategy. The Fund established Climate Prosperity, Inc. in 2009 to advance community and regional efforts to address challenges of climate change from the perspective of economic development opportunities. The CEC brought together stakeholders to provide input to Metro Denver's Climate Prosperity strategy, which was released in May 2011.

Balanced Energy Economy Symposium

The CEC, in partnership with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, presents the Balanced Energy Economy Symposium on a quarterly basis. The series is designed to deliver the most up-to-date information to keep pace with Colorado's dynamic energy industry. Panels of subject matter experts explore and discuss the energy issues that impact the global economy. Topics for the 2010-2011 series include International Competition, Energy Policy in Context, Aerospace and Energy, and Innovation and Technology.

Energy Efficiency and the Bottom Line

Energy-efficient commercial buildings are beneficial for both the environment and the bottom line. Presented by the Colorado Energy Coalition (CEC) Sustainability Committee, this session demonstrates the return on investment from new and retrofitted energy efficient commercial buildings. It also provides an update on the committee’s work, case studies for new owner-occupied LEED-certified buildings, and an in-depth case study on a 110,000-square-foot retrofit of Class A office space.
