With the No. 3 tech labor market, Metro Denver is an IT recruiter's dream.

With an enviable lifestyle and boundless recreation opportunities, it's no surprise that Metro Denver and Northern Colorado attract and retain the most talented IT workers. Colorado has the third-highest concentration of high-tech workers in the country according to the "Cyberstates 2011" report by TechAmerica.

The region's information technology - software industry employs 41,640 people and includes software publishers, custom computer programming, data processing/hosting, Internet service providers, and computer systems design.

Software companies employ 2.4 percent of the region's total employment base compared to 1.3 percent nationally. Trulia Inc.—a residential real estate website and search engine company—opened its first Denver-area office in Centennial in May 2011, hiring 100 employees and with plans to add another 50 employees in early 2012. IT hosting provider Latisys anoounce plans to build a second, $50 million, 82,000-square-foot data center on its existing 6.5-acre campus in the Denver Tech Center.

A strong entrepreneurial atmosphere is evident with the state ranking as the fifth-best state for entrepreneuership and third for monies raised via the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.

Plus, IT companies have a voice and support network through the Colorado Technology Association, which works to foster innovation and a positive growth environment in the technology industry.

But there's more to our region than just great talent. Consider our highly favorable tax and regulatory environment as well as low business costs. You'll have many "real" opportunities when you locate your IT business here.
