Networking on a global scale.
Metro Denver is home to 39 Foreign Consulates. Six of these consular missions are staffed by career diplomats from the countries of Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Japan, Guatemala, and Peru.
These Foreign Consulates work with the region's economic development groups to expand bilateral trade and economic relations as well as increasing trade promotion and cultural exchange.
The City and County of Denver maintains Sister City relationships with communities in 10 countries. In addition, communities throughout the region have similar ties around the world to help promote global cooperation.
Sister City partnerships are officially recognized through signed agreements by the respective mayor of each city and ratified by the city councils. As well as building economic ties, these relationships help generate tourism and further cultural understanding between the Sister Cities and Metro Denver communities.
