Dennis Heap is the director of aviation for Front Range Airport. The general aviation airport in Adams County is approximately 20 miles east of downtown Denver,and three miles southeast of Denver International Airport (DIA). The airport has developed infrastructure necessary to accommodate multiple large aircraft.

Front Range Airport is the newest general aviation airport constructed in Colorado. It is designated as a reliever airport to DIA. The Denver airport system (DIA, Centennial, Rocky Mountain and Front Range) contribute 74% of the State’s aviation economic benefit and account for 231,000 jobs.

Dennis Heap began his career in 1971 with Rocky Mountain Airways, a Colorado airline that created market dominance by using leading-edge technology. Heap stayed with the company when it was sold to Texas Air and became the Western Region of Continental Express in 1986. His responsibilities included scheduling, pricing, marketing, and stations operations. Heap joined Front Range Airport in 1994. Heap earned a B.S. in aerospace technology from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1970, earning his commercial pilot license, instrument, and multi-engine ratings.
