On average, Sierra Nevada is technology is launched into space every 14 days on spacecraft that orbit the earth, travel the solar system, and land on other planets. SNC’s rocket propulsion systems propel what will be the first spaceship built for commercial tourism outside of Earth’s atmosphere. Satellites designed and built by SNC are set to monitor impressive, just-in-time logistics of major global retailers. In addition, SNC is designing a new Earth-orbiting manned spacecraft to replace the Space Shuttle’s role of delivering crew to the International Space Station and other Earth-orbiting destinations.

Streit served as vice president of operations for SpaceDev, Inc. from 2007 until its acquisition by SNC in 2009. Prior to joining SpaceDev, Streit served in executive roles with Hewlett Packard, GE Healthcare, Cirrus Logic, Picolight, and Cordis Corporation for new product development, program management, operations, and sales. His industry experience includes aerospace, implantable medical devices, remote health monitoring, fiber-optic transceivers, and high volume mass storage semiconductors for disk drives.

Streit holds a BSE in Bio-medical and Electronics Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Miami, specializing in Operations Research. He is also certified as a PMP (Project Management Professional) from the Project Management Institute, a world-wide professional project management organization.

“Colorado has the third-largest aerospace economy in the country and the advocacy of the Metro Denver EDC is a key factor in sustaining this vibrant sector our state. With more than 500 of Sierra Nevada’s 2,000 employees located on the Front Range, SNC’s partnership with the Metro Denver EDC is critical to ensuring we can grow a strong aerospace business climate and a workforce with the skills necessary to continue pushing back the frontier of space.”
