About the Board of Governors
Comprised of all Metro Denver EDC investors, members of the Board of Governors help design Metro Denver EDC's annual work plan to guide strategic goals in improving and expanding the region's businesses. The Board of Governors' list of accomplishments includes influencing legislation beneficial to the business community, and keeping the pulse on trends affecting the regions industries. Members of the Board meet regularly every two months and many assist on additional committees and special task forces.
Leadership - Josh Gould and Debbie Welle-Powell, Co-Chairs
Josh Gould serves as chairman and CEO of RNL, a leader in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, planning and urban design.
Gould moved to Colorado from Boston in 1980 to attend the University of Colorado, where he holds a master's in architecture as well as an MBA.
At RNL, he oversees the firm's four offices and is principal in charge of the Denver corporate and higher education markets. In addition, he is one of the firm's primary champions of sustainability, with RNL recently recognized as one of the top-five sustainable firms in the United States.
Debbie Welle-Powell serves as vice president of payer strategies and government affairs for Exempla Healthcare.
Welle-Powell is a Minnesota native and resident of Colorado since college. She earned her undergraduate degree in sociology from Moorhead State University and her master's in public affairs from the University of Colorado. She leads contract negotiations with health plans and oversees public affairs on behalf of Exempla. In addition, Welle-Powell develops strategic partnerships and relationships with state and congressional legislators, national and local leaders, policy makers, chambers, and employer groups.
