Investor Roundtable Breakfast: Monthly small group gatherings to discuss Metro Denver EDC endeavors and topical events while sharing business sector concerns and opportunities in the region.
Committees: Investors can serve on committees developed and constituted around identified industry clusters to create an action plan for assisting in the attraction of these industries and jobs to Metro Denver.
Investor Intelligence: Investors receive Metro Denver EDC’s informative monthly newsletter with inside information on the Metro Denver EDC’s initiatives, company relocations or expansions, and important business and industry news in the region.
E-News Alerts: Investors are alerted with valuable information and updates when important news about the Metro Denver EDC or initiatives happen.
Metro Denver InSite e-newsletter: A newsletter highlighting business, industry, and real estate news in Metro Denver, distributed monthly to national site selectors, key players in company relocations and expansions. Metro Denver EDC investors can opt-in to receive this e-newsletter.
Web Site: In addition to a vast amount of information about Metro Denver, company listings are linked from the Metro Denver EDC’s Web site to investor’s Web sites for additional global exposure.
Monthly Economic Summary: The Metro Denver EDC’s Chief Economist, Patty Silverstein, researches economic trends monthly for Metro Denver, including labor and employment trends, real estate, and the consumer sector. Each month, 18 indicators are profiled in a complete report that is available only to investors. A summary is posted on our Web site at the beginning of each month.
Metro Denver Economic Profile: This annual publication contains current economic development data for site selectors, facilities managers, and others interested in expanding or locating to Metro Denver. In addition to a comprehensive profile on the region, each county is profiled with demographic, real estate, transportation, education, quality of life, and employer information.
Customized Research: Investors can access Metro Denver EDC’s economic forecasts and research on labor statistics, demographics, and industry trends. Staff can provide customized data in the areas of real estate/site selection, industry profiles, company listings, taxes and regulation, housing, transportation/commuting patterns, and utilities. All of these services are free of charge to investors.
Annual Report to Investors and Awards Luncheon: This luncheon and awards event highlights the Metro Denver EDC’s accomplishments for the previous year. Three awards are presented: Metropolitan Cooperation Award, Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Efforts in Economic Development, and the Economic Development Deal of the Year Award.
Special Events: Throughout the year, the Metro Denver EDC sponsors or co-sponsors a variety of speakers, lunches, and dinners for our investors to attend. These events include economic briefings, industry overviews, and transportation/legislative updates.
Site Selection Events: Participation is available in our three-day Site Selection Conferences that help identify and educate key site selection consultants about Metro Denver as the premier site for corporate relocation and expansion.
Referrals: While assisting growing and relocating companies, the Metro Denver EDC is often able to refer company inquiries to investors and provide direct introductions between investors for business development opportunities.
Trade Missions: The Metro Denver EDC coordinates industry-based trade missions throughout the world. Investors with industry expertise participate in these trips. Previous missions include Alberta, Canada; Tokyo, Japan; Beijing, China; and Munich, Germany.
Leadership Opportunities
Executive Committee: Consists of Metro Denver EDC investors, representing a cross-section of the region’s industries. The Committee is co-chaired by two investors serving two-year terms. The Committee oversees the Metro Denver EDC's budget, work plan, programs, activities, and directs the allocation of program funding. The Chair of the Metro Denver EDC’s Professional’s Group serves as a voting member of the Executive Committee. Meets 12 times per year.
Board of Governors: Comprised of all investors in the Metro Denver EDC. Members serve as volunteers in drafting the annual work plan and serving on committees and special task forces. This group is the Metro Denver EDC's major asset base and provides the expertise to achieve optimum results. Meets 6 times a year
Metro Denver EDC Professionals: Comprised of Metro Denver EDC’s economic development partners throughout the region. The Chair of this group serves on the Executive Committee. This group will often meet in conjunction with the Board of Governors and helps the Metro Denver EDC develop its annual economic development work plan, marketing programs, and economic policy recommendations. The group also organizes trade shows and missions and is instrumental coordinating site selector’s visits. Meets 6 times a year
Colorado Energy Coalition (CEC): Comprised of Metro Denver EDC investors, a diverse member group dedicated to strengthening the business climate in Colorado that supports all sectors within the energy industry – fossil fuels, renewable resources, energy efficiency, and conservation. There are currently five committees under the CEC, each of which operates as a task force with specific goals, deliverables and timelines. Metro Denver Aviation Coalition (MDAC): A membership committee of the Metro Denver EDC dedicated to the continued growth and development of Metro Denver’s aviation industry. Denver International Airport is a core engine and catalyst for Metro Denver’s economic growth, and additional growth opportunities are also supported by our region’s broader aviation system. MDAC members represent a wide range of businesses that collectively recognize these opportunities and the economic benefits they present.
Colorado Space Coalition (CSC): The CSC is a group of industry stakeholders working to make Colorado a center of excellence for aerospace. CSC members promote Colorado’s significant space assets as well as advancing legislation vital to industry growth and success. The CSC is the State's aerospace industry association and is staffed by and housed at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. The CSC membership represents a consortium of Colorado's major defense companies, aerospace companies, military bases, universities and research institutions, industry organizations and associations, and economic development organizations.
