The sky's the limit for Metro Denver's economy.

In 2003, members of the business community came together to establish a set of priorities and a new economic development strategy for the Metro Denver region. This  plan ultimately formed the basis of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (Metro Denver EDC) and its initial five-year workplan to bring 100,000 new jobs and $25 billion in new economic wealth to the area.

Four years later, the Blue Sky Committee reconvened to consider a new series of objectives for an additional five-year plan to further expand the region's economy.

The Blue Sky Committee evaluated 28 essential issues likely to impact the economic stability and prosperity over the next five years. Following prioritization by the Committee, the objectives were reviewed and voted upon by the Metro Denver EDC Board of Governors, Economic Development Partners, and finally the Executive Committee.

Ten major priorities surfaced through the discussion and voting process. A feasibility study has been taken to the business community to prioritize objectives for the Metro Denver EDC's ongoing work plan. Study results are expected soon.
