Denver Commercial Office Furniture Firm Set to Become One of Largest Women-Owned Businesses in Colorado

Workplace Resource, one of Colorado's largest commercial office furniture and related services dealerships, has been purchased from Herman Miller, Inc. by Carla Dore, Workplace Resource president. 

"This is an exciting new beginning for our company, one that has quickly enabled us to find new ways to respond to our clients, while continuing to leverage our service capability, strong brand, and Herman Miller roots," said Dore.  "We have the freedom now to pursue additional offerings that we didn't have before, developing new ways to inspire our clients' office environments and create extraordinary places to work."

This transition to independent ownership was endorsed and facilitated by the Herman Miller executive leadership team over the past seven years.  The company will continue doing business as Workplace Resource and will continue to be recognized as a Herman Miller Certified Dealer.

"Our core mission is to provide furnishings and related services that enhance the human experience wherever people work, heal, learn and live. That is not going to change," said Dore. "Our product lines, operations, facilities, staff and management team remain intact."

As a result of the new ownership  Workplace Resource now qualifies as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE). Based on gross revenues, it projects to be in the top 10 women-owned businesses in the state.  "As a woman-owned business, we can significantly enhance our value to our client base-whether they operate in government or the corporate sector," Dore said.

The move to independent ownership also will enable Workplace Resource to enhance its presence and impact in the communities it serves.  "We intend to continue, and grow, our commitment to environmental stewardship, giving to the community, inclusiveness and diversity," Dore said.
