Children's Hospital earns top rankings
The Children's Hospital in Aurora is ranked among the nation's top pediatrics hospitals in nine of 10 specialty categories, including three top-five rankings, in the latest annual rating by U.S. News & World Report.
The hospital is rated No. 4 for diabetes and endocrinology, No. 5 in gastroenterology, and also No. 5 in pulmonology among children's hospitals.
It also is rated No. 9 in both neonatology and orthopedics, No. 11 in cancer, No. 19 in heart, No. 20 in neurology and neurosurgery and No. 28 in kidney.
"This is fantastic news, not just for us, but for the children of Colorado," Jim Shmerling, president and CEO of The Children's Hospital, said in a statement. "For them, it means access to the nation’s best physicians and nurses without the burden of cross-country travel. It means better outcomes and brighter futures in their own backyards."
