Corporex break ground on office/hotel dev.
Corporex Cos. Inc. of Kentucky is scheduled to break ground on its $80 million office building and hotel project at Fitzsimons Village in Aurora on May 19, the developer says.
The project includes a 170,000-square-foot, six-story office building and parking structure that will serve The Children’s Hospital at the adjacent Anschutz Medical Campus, as well as a 153-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott mid-scale hotel.
The site is located on East Colfax Avenue, between Ursula and Xanadu streets, across from the hospital.
Fitzsimons Village is part of the redevelopment of the old Fitzsimons Army Medical Center at the army post of the same name in Aurora and Denver. The village is being developed by BWAB-Fitzsimons LLC, a partnership between Denver-based BWAB Inc. and Westside Investment Partners Inc. of Greenwood Village.
Corporex of Covington, Ky., has five other sites at Fitzsimons Village for future development, which possibly could include a conference center, full-service hotel and retail center to support the Anschutz campus.
