DaVita buying Nashville company

DaVita Inc. said Friday it’s signed an agreement to buy DSI Renal Inc. for almost $690 million.

The purchase is expected to close in either the second or third quarter.

Nashville-based DSI Renal operates 106 dialysis centers and has annual revenue of about $360 million.

Denver-based DaVita (NYSE: DVA), which operates its own string of 1,598 dialysis centers, reported $6.1 billion in revenue last year.
