DIA named best North American airport

Denver International Airport has been named "Best Airport in North America" by Business Traveler magazine for the sixth straight year.

"DIA is honored to be the only airport ever to receive this award six consecutive years," Denver Aviation Manager Kim Day said in a statement Wednesday. "The 30,000 people who work at the airport are to be congratulated for balancing safety and security with providing an enjoyable experience for travelers."

Air Canada won five categories in Business Traveler's 2010 "Best in Business Travel" awards: best North American airline for international travel, business-class service, in-flight services, flight attendants and website.

United Airlines -- DIA's largest carrier by passenger volume -- was named best airline for North American travel, and Southwest Airlines -- the No. 3 carrier at DIA -- was named best low-cost airline in North America.
