The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is Colorado’s largest system of higher education, with more than 151,000 students annually achieving their personal, educational, and job-related goals. About half of these students come from the region served by the Metro Denver EDC.

The community colleges of Colorado are major contributors to the economic health of the state of Colorado. A recent, independent study found that CCCS colleges contribute more than $3 billion to the economy of our state. This impact is equal to the creation of nearly 56,000 jobs. The study also found that the increased productivity of workers due to the training from CCCS colleges creates $2.8 billion in added income each year for the regional workforce.

“The Metro Denver EDC’s work to cultivate economic opportunity in our region directly benefits our students through the enhanced career opportunities they pursue upon acquiring their job competencies from us,” said Dr. Nancy McCallin, president of the Colorado Community College System. “Our complementary missions benefit students and the economy.”
