Preschool to post doc. First-class educational resources.
From pre-school to post doc, Metro Denver has first-class educational resources to engage our energetic young minds and prepare them for tomorrow's workforce.
During the 2009 legislative session, Former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter signed into law a comprehensive package of education-reform measures, including bills to help reduce the dropout rate and allow students to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college associate's degree, to ensure that every child has access to a good education and can compete in the global economy.
Colorado's commitment to education begins in Pre-Kindergarten with initiatives that invest in preparedness like Preschool Matters and the Colorado Preschool Program. K-12 education in Metro Denver offers many choices, including high-quality public schools with alternative learning environments such as charter and magnet schools, and private and parochial schools.
Higher educational resources encompass a variety of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs at 11 public and private four-year colleges and universities, including world-class research institutions such as the University of Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, and the University of Denver. And the state's community colleges offer employers customized training to meet changing workforce needs.
