As a business location, Metro Denver’s higher education system is one of the area’s greatest assets. Of Metro Denver's adult population, 39.5 percent are college graduates and 89 percent have graduated from high school. Colorado has the nation's second-most educated workforce, behind only Massachusetts.
The Metro Denver region provides a wide-range of higher education resources, including world-class research institutions, graduate and professional schools, and a broad-spectrum of undergraduate programs.
Many of Metro Denver's colleges and universities offer non-traditional or adult education programs including evening and weekend options. Distance learning programs are available for those seeking degrees or certifications.
Twelve, four-year public and private colleges and universities with enrollments totaling over 142,600 are located in the area. Metro Denver’s largest provider of workforce training and education services is its six, two-year public community colleges and nearly 200 vocational/technical schools.
