Wind energy leader RES-Americas relocates to Broomfield
Renewable Energy Systems Americas, Inc. (RES-Americas), a national leader in the development and construction of renewable wind energy, announced the relocation of their corporate headquarters to Broomfield. Business operations commenced at the new site on March 24, 2008. The company was based in Austin, TX for the previous nine years.
"RES-Americas is excited to call the Denver area home. Colorado has demonstrated immense leadership in the development of renewable resources and alternative energy. We are proud to now join that effort," said Craig Mataczynski, President of RES-Americas. "We look forward to a bright future and strong relationship between Broomfield and RES-Americas for years to come."
Founded in 1997, RES-Americas has grown to become one of the country’s leading wind farm developers, actively participating in developing more than 12 percent of the installed wind power capacity in the United States. In addition, RES-Americas currently ranks 2nd in number of total megawatts constructed in North America.
RES-Americas has regional offices in four states and Montreal, with project operations spanning six states and Canada. The Denver metro area is an ideal site for relocation. It offers geographic proximity to RES-Americas operations, a business and political atmosphere that is supportive of renewable efforts and a welcoming environment for a high standard of living for RES-Americas employees.
RES-Americas will relocate 70 full time jobs from Texas, with plans to add an additional 70 Broomfield based employees over the next year. The company currently employs a total of 160 people nationwide and in Canada.
RES-Americas is currently developing one site in Colorado, the 300 MW Cedar Point Wind Project located in Elbert and Lincoln Counties. Once operational, the project will produce enough clean, renewable energy to power 81,000 homes.
