ArtDistrict on Santa Fe and Golden Triangle District connect

Denver’s ArtDistrict on Santa Fe and the Golden Triangle Museum District have partnered to connect two of Denver’s premiere art and cultural districts.

Beginning on First Friday October 2 art patrons can travel on a free luxury shuttle coach with an on-board guide between the two art districts. For the first time art lovers will have easy access to over 100 art galleries, museums, cultural centers, restaurants and shops.

From 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each First Friday year-round a shuttle coach will run a continuous loop starting at the Osage RTD light rail station (across from the Buckhorn Exchange) with two stops in both the ArtDistrict and the Museum District.

The new service came about after informal discussions between the ArtDistrict’s Jack Pappalardo and the Museum District’s Robin Riddel Lima that began a couple of years ago as the two sought ways to connect the various art districts in Denver.

"The connecting of these two art and cultural districts makes perfect sense for each district and its patrons," said Jack Pappalardo. "It’s a short walk between the two art districts yet it seemed so much further because of the Speer Boulevard barrier. We have now eliminated that barrier on First Fridays and have connected the two art districts."

"I am thrilled to be able to open the First Friday crowds of the ArtDistrict to all the Museum District has to offer", said Robin Riddle Lima. "The new shuttle service will encourage the mixing of the crowds amongst both districts and provide a 'green' way for people to get around on First Friday. Patrons can take light rail and leave their cars at home." Those that do need to drive can park at West High School at Galapago and 10th Avenue. There is a $3.00 parking fee there with the money collected going to support the cultural programs at West High.

"Connect the Dots" to the Art Walks shuttle coach route:

Osage Light Rail Station -> Santa Fe Drive at 10th Avenue -> West High School Parking Lot at 10th Avenue and Galapago Street-> 11thAvenue at Cherokee Street -> the Denver Art Museum Entrance at 12th Avenue.

The shuttle coach then returns to Osage RTD station making the same stops on the way. The full loop will take under 20 minutes and will run continuously until 9:30 PM during First Fridays.
