Chamber selects Kelly J. Brough as new leader

Today, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce board of directors ratified the selection of Kelly J. Brough as the new president and CEO of the organization.

“Kelly Brough understands and is able to articulate the important role the position of CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce plays in developing and protecting business interests in Colorado,” said Mimi Roberson, president of HealthOne Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, chair of the search committee and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Denver Metro Chamber. “She understands the landscape of Denver and the state, and she has the experience we need to continue to Chamber’s track record of growing and protecting business in Colorado.”

Brough has been chief of staff for the City and County of Denver since 2005. Prior to that role, she served in the City and County as deputy chief of staff, director of the office of accountability and reform, personnel analyst and director of human resources. Brough created the first pay-for-performance program for Denver employees. Brough holds bachelor’s degrees in sociology and criminal justice from Montana State University and a master’s of business administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.

“ The search committee was presented with a slate of outstanding candidates and had the difficult task of recommending a single leader to the Board,” said Joe Blake, former president and CEO of the Chamber and Chancellor of Colorado State University System. “They have chosen wisely and boldly in selecting Kelly Brough for this role. It’s a role in which she will excel and flourish. The Chamber is always looking to the future, and Kelly will be a tremendous leader in that journey.”

“The Denver Metro Chamber needs a leader who is flexible, innovative and open to new ideas and concepts,” said Chuck Ward, president of Qwest Colorado, and incoming chair of the Board of Directors for the Denver Metro Chamber. “Brough will bring her own brand of energy, wit, intelligence, enthusiasm, and strategic thinking to the organization.”
