CleanLaunch announces newest client, GoSmart Technologies
CleanLaunch, Colorado's cleantech incubator, announced on June 4, 2010 its newest client company, GoSmart Technologies. GoSmart designs and builds electric vehicle charging stations for public and private use.
"We could not be happier that CleanLaunch chose GoSmart as one of its select clients. Over the last year, we have looked at many business incubators throughout Colorado," said Brian Smith, CEO of GoSmart. "CleanLaunch gave us clear direction on the expectations of the advisory board and a structured plan of how to move our company to the next level."
GoSmart's ChargeSPOT™ products are revolutionary charging stations that provide accessibility for consumers at commercial and public facilities, residences and rural areas. When a consumer plugs in their electric or hybrid vehicle, they can determine the length of charge and the cost that is incurred. By providing these options, a consumer can make better choices towards energy usage. This will impact many SmartGrid initiatives and environmental sustainability.
GoSmart Technologies' first installation is at the Wellington Webb Municipal building as part of the City of Denver's vehicle electrification program. The City and County of Denver Office of Economic Development is also CleanLaunch's newest investor and board member, joining Arapahoe County and Jefferson County in a regional public-private partnership to support the growth of cleantech companies.
GoSmart's signing further diversifies CleanLaunch's portfolio in 2010, joining P4P Energy, a solar photovoltaic support solution company, and CW Industries, a commercial building energy and asset management technology company.
"GoSmart is in the top 3 percent of opportunities we've looked at in the past six months and we are thrilled to have joined with Brian and his team, particularly given our strong support from the Burt Technologies," said Brewster Boyd, CleanLaunch Director of Finance. "We believe strongly that GoSmart has the opportunity to grow into a dominant market position serving the rapidly emerging electric vehicle market."
Hank Held, CleanLaunch Chairman of the Board and Executive Vice President with the Burt Automotive Group, commented, "As CleanLaunch further establishes its position as the go-to resource for early stage technology companies, I enthusiastically welcome our public sector partners as we contribute to the development of a robust cleantech economy."
