German cleantech comp juwi moving wind HQ to Boulder

Gov. Bill Ritter praised the announcement that a Germany-based renewable-energy company, juwi, will move its U.S. wind headquarters from Ohio to Colorado in September.

"Despite difficult economic times, Colorado continues to attract 21st-century companies and careers," Gov. Ritter said. "Thanks to Colorado's innovative spirit and relentless drive to advance new technologies, we are building a New Energy Economy and securing a strong future for generations to come. It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome juwi's wind headquarters to Boulder."

Boulder is already home to juwi's U.S. solar headquarters, and juwi solar president Michael Martin has called the region a "trending hub for renewable energy and has been among the nation's leaders on renewable energy legislative initiatives."

juwi is a renewable-energy company based in Germany that employs more than 1,000 people worldwide. The juwi group currently employs more than 30 people in Boulder. The relocation of the wind headquarters will create 20 new jobs in Boulder over the next year.
