Lockheed Martin program achieves 10-year service milestone

Seamless support provided for critical military command operations

Lockheed Martin's 721st Cheyenne Mountain Communications program team recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary providing support to Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station customers.

"Communications is critical to the Commands," said Cliff Spier, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Solutions-Defense's vice president for C2 Solutions. "The seamless operations provided by the 721st team is essential to our nation's security."

The program provides Missile Warning, Air Defense, and Space Surveillance mission support to North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), US Northern Command, US Strategic Command, and US Air Force Space Command. In addition, the team provides base communications IT support for all Cheyenne Mountain Complex (CMC) customers.

The CMC outside Colorado Springs, Colo., is the main correlation center for the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) system which provides North American National Leadership with threat assessment data
