Denver International Airport records 11th consecutive month of unprecedented passenger traffic
Denver International Airport (DEN) once again set a monthly passenger traffic record with more than 5.9 million travelers passing through the airport in August. This was the busiest August in DEN history. The monthly tally accounted for a 4.3 percent increase over the same month in 2017, or 246,170 passengers, and set August 2018 apart as the second-busiest month ever for the airport.
Passenger traffic has been growing steadily at DEN since October 2017 with August marking the 11th consecutive month of record-breaking numbers. Continued higher load factors and increases in seats led to the increase in August passengers. International passenger traffic increased also 14 percent compared to August 2017.
More than 56 million pounds of cargo passed through DEN in August, a 7.4 percent increase over August 2017. This was the largest cargo total in a single month since March 2006 for DEN.
