MindSports Colorado and the Colorado Regional Planning Committee announce Colorado Regional FIRST Robotics Competition
MindSports Colorado and the Colorado Regional Planning Committee announced the 2009 Colorado Regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology) Robotics Competition will be held March 27-28 this year.
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a unique varsity sport of the mind designed to help high-school-aged young people discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be. The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to innovatively apply math and science skills to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build 120 lb. robots from the parts and enter them in worldwide competitions where they compete in short matches along with an alliance of other robots against a second alliance to score points in a game played on a 54’ x 27’ playing field.
