Colorado PTAC satellite office opens in Jefferson County
The Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) has opened a satellite office in Jefferson County. The Colorado PTAC HQ is located in Colorado Springs, but the new office provides Colorado PTAC staff with a Metro Denver location to meet with local clients.
Jefferson Economic Development Council (JEC) is hosting the PTAC in one of its dedicated offices in the Denver West Office Park. There is a lot of interest by Jefferson County companies in government procurement opportunities. JEC and the Jeffco Workforce Center hosted a highly successful Procurement Conference last year that had close to 500 attendees from around the state. Jefferson County also has one of the highest number of companies in Colorado receiving SBIR and STTR federal research grants, and houses two of the largest prime government contractors—Lockheed Martin and Ball Aerospace & Technologies.
93 PTACs across the country help small businesses in getting contracts with federal, state and local governments. Colorado was awarded a PTAC from the US Department of Defense in 2009.
