Airport Developments

High Point

Commercial activity near Denver International Airport is picking up steam with High Point, a $1.5 billion, 1,800-acre mixed-use community and corporate park by LNR and Landmark Properties near E-470 and Peña Boulevard.

With land in Aurora and Denver, the project is a model for regional cooperation between the region's two largest cities. At full build out, High Point will create an estimated 30,000 jobs and serve as a vibrant gateway to Metro Denver.

The High Point includes 10 million square feet of office, up to one million square feet of retail, a residential community, and an 18-hole golf course. High Point could potentially be served by the 23.6-mile East Corridor light rail line which is part of the $6.1 billion FasTracks project.

TransPort

A development plan for TransPort, a transportation and cargo center located adjacent to Front Range Airport (just southeast of Denver International Airport), was approved in 2006. The 5,000-acre "inland port" will serve as a hub for companies shipping and receiving cargo by air, road, or rail in Metro Denver.

Bordered by I-70, TransPort will be the region's largest transportation hub, and is estimated to create $10 billion in development and 38,000 new jobs. TransPort's development plan includes an industrial, warehouse, and distribution center to handle raw materials such as lumber and cement, as well as food and other products. In addition, several industrial and commercial centers are planned, including 1,000 acres for biotech facilities and 1,500 acres for corporate aviation use.
