J. J. Ament
CEO, Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation
J. J. Ament is the Chief Executive Officer of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. With experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, J. J. brings a unique combination of expertise to the role. In his career, J. J. has worked in business and investment banking including financial transactions for the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, Denver Public Schools, Denver International Airport, and several states across the U.S. Since 2011, J. J. was a member of the Colorado Economic Development Commission, where he weighed in on state economic development incentives, grants, and tax credits. His appointment as chair of the Commission in 2016 reinforced his ability to collaborate with every corner of the state. J. J. holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder; and a Series 7/ Series 53/Series 63/Series 79 from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Kelly Brough (pronounced "bruff") took the helm of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Metro Denver EDC in October 2009. Previously, she worked as the Chief of Staff for the City and County of Denver, after serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of the Office of Accountability and Reform. During her career, Kelly’s work has focused on improving public sector performance and service delivery and developing stronger working relationships between the public, non-profit and private sectors. Kelly has a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice from Montana State University.
Vice President of Economic Development
Sam joined the Metro Denver EDC in August 2017. As vice president of economic development, Sam will manage economic development efforts and develop strategic initiatives to expand the Metro Denver region’s economic competitiveness and ability to attract leading industries and talented workers. He most recently served as president and Chief Executive Officer of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation in Golden, where he managed a team of four staff members, led business recruitment and expansion activities, and enhanced public and private sector engagement in the community’s economic development efforts. Previously, Sam worked as a senior manager of global business development for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Sam holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Economics and Political Science from Regis University. He serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for Colorado Companies to Watch and serves as a Professional Development Mentor and Board Member of the Regis University Young Alumni Board.
Director, Economic Development
Laura is the Director of Economic Development for the Metro Denver EDC. She assists with prospects, research, and business recruitment and retention. Prior to joining the Metro Denver EDC, Laura was an Economic Development Specialist for the City of Lakewood for six years. While at Lakewood, Laura coordinated the creation of two urban renewal districts and the relocation of more than 50 businesses that were displaced by the $750 million Belmar redevelopment. Laura brings more than 30 years experience in economic development, community organization, and marketing to the Metro Denver EDC. As Executive Director of the Rockford Central Area Corporation, Rockford, Ill., Laura was responsible for the economic development and marketing of the city’s downtown. She served three terms as a member of the City Council in Sheboygan, Wis. A Wisconsin native, Laura is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
Director, Aerospace & Aviation Industry
Vicky joined the Metro Denver EDC in March 2009. She supports the region’s aviation and aerospace industries, and manages the Colorado Space Coalition and the Metro Denver Aviation Coalition. Vicky was previously Aerospace Industry Coordinator with the Metro Denver WIRED Initiative, a U.S. Department of Labor grant to increase the pipeline of workers to the region’s targeted growth industries. Vicky previously worked for UK Trade and Investment at the British Consulate in Denver, where she helped Colorado companies expand business operations into the United Kingdom, and assisted British companies conducting business in Colorado. Vicky also worked to build education and non-profit partnerships for international social economic development programs. Originally from the UK, Vicky received her Master’s degree in Development Studies from Manchester University.
Director, Investor Relations
Cayti joined the Metro Denver EDC in March 2017. She is responsible for attracting new investors, investor retention, raising sponsorship dollars for events, and periodic capital campaigns. Prior to joining the Metro Denver EDC, Cayti was the executive director for the U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce. She was also the director of marketing and research at the McKinney Economic Development Corp. in McKinney, Texas for more than two years, handling the organization’s marketing and public relations efforts. Cayti graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Affairs and Russian Studies. She is also a graduate of the Economic Development Institute of the University of Oklahoma. In her free time, Cayti enjoys spending time with her husband Mike.
Manager, Strategic Initiatives
Lisa joined the Metro Denver EDC in July 2017 as the Manager of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, she supports both Colorado’s energy and investment services coalitions, while also seeking ways to expand business in Colorado. She has more than 20 years of experience developing and managing public policy programs for government, private corporations, and nonprofits. Prior to joining the Metro Denver EDC, Lisa’s diverse experience spanned from serving as a senior director at BP America to working at an energy startup in Boulder. Lisa holds a B.A. in History and Canadian Studies from Duke University and a J. D. from the University of Denver College of Law. As an active community member, Lisa serves on several boards including Butterfly Pavilion and the Adams County Foundation. In her free time, she and her husband Campbell enjoy everything Colorado has to offer including skiing, golf, and live music.
Economic Development Manager
Chelsea joined the Metro Denver EDC in January 2016 after two years in the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Public Affairs department. She provides departmental support for the Metro Denver EDC, including administrative support for the Vice President and Director of Investor Relations, and meeting coordination for the Metro Denver EDC and its committees, as well as event management. Chelsea brings with her experience from the Colorado Innovation Network, a division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona. In her free time she enjoys running half marathons and doing yoga.
Senior Digital Marketing Specialist
Dani joined the Metro Denver EDC in April 2014. She is currently managing the Metro Denver EDC's overall marketing strategy, website management, social media marketing, and tradeshow experiences. She brings nearly 10 years of marketing experience with her from an industrial manufacturer headquartered in Iowa, and has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Mount Mercy College. Dani enjoys adventures in the mountains and exploring all of the music and arts that Denver has to offer.
Daryl joined the Metro Denver EDC in January 2016. As executive assistant to the CEO and Vice President, she provides support to the executive team by managing schedules and coordinating meetings, as well as assisting the Metro Denver EDC staff with events and special projects. Prior to her role with the Metro Denver EDC, Daryl worked as the office services coordinator for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Previously an Iowa resident, Daryl has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Directing from Drake University. She enjoys puzzles, fiction, and Denver’s performance arts scene.
