Jefferson County

The Metro Denver region has all the things businesses need to flourish, including a young, healthy, highly educated workforce, an affordable cost of doing business, and a multimodal transportation system that will take us years into the future.

Jefferson County

The Gateway to the Rockies, Jefferson County (JeffCo) sits on the western edge of Metro Denver and offers a diversified geographical setting, from urban and ranch lifestyles, to thriving mountain communities in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Just minutes from downtown Denver, JeffCo enjoys easy access to all major arterial highways and boasts its own airport – Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport.

Business Climate

With over 300 days of sunshine, JeffCo embodies the outdoor lifestyle. The county’s nationally acclaimed Open Space Program and mountainous areas support the active outdoor lifestyles of its residents and workforce. With more than 212,000 acres of public land, the county provides a fantastic playground for outdoor enthusiasts – no matter your flavor. From hiking to biking to fly fishing – we have you covered.

JeffCo has a nationally acclaimed K-12 school district with a highly educated workforce. With 47.7% of the residents in the county holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, we help position Colorado as the second most educated workforce in the nation. Residents have convenient access to higher educational institutions such as the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado Christian University, and Arapahoe, Front Range, and Red Rocks Community Colleges.

The county’s municipal boundaries include the incorporated cities and towns of Arvada, Bow Mar, Edgewater, Golden, Lakeside, Lakewood, Mountain View and Wheat Ridge, as well as portions of the cities of Superior and Westminster.  The County also reaches into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where the communities of Conifer, Evergreen, Genesee and Morrison are located.
